Getting started with Subnet24

Welcome to Subnet24, your solution for efficient IP address management. This guide will walk you through the basic steps to set up your account and start organizing your IP addresses.

What is Subnet24? #

Subnet24 is a comprehensive IP Address Management (IPAM) platform that helps you organize, track, and manage your IP address space. Whether you're managing a small network or enterprise infrastructure, Subnet24 provides the tools you need to maintain control over your IP resources.

Step 1: Creating Your Account #

1. Visit app.subnet24.com
2. Click on the Sign Up tab
3. Enter your email address and create a password
4. Complete the registration form with your basic information
5. Log in to your new Subnet24 account

Note: All new users start with a free account that includes essential features. You can upgrade to a paid account anytime to access premium features.

Step 2: Creating Your First Group #

Groups help you organize your IP addresses in a way that makes sense for your organization. You might create groups based on departments, locations, or network types. All subnets must be created under a group.

1. From your dashboard on the Left Side navigation click “IPs”
2. Click the + Group button
3. Enter a name for your group (e.g., "Main Office," "Development Team," or "Production Network")
4. Pick an optional Parent Group
5. Click Confirm to save

Your new group will now appear in your Groups list. You can create multiple groups to organize your networks logically.

Step 3: Adding Your First Subnet #

Once you have a group created, you can add subnets to it. A subnet represents a segment of your network's IP address space.

1. From your dashboard on the Left Side navigation click “IPs”
2. Click the + IPv4 Subnet button
3. Enter the Subnet Name (e.g., “Office WiFi Network”)
4. Enter the VLAN ID (e.g., 2)
5. Include an optional description with relevant details
6. Choose the group to add the subnet to (e.g., “Main Office”)
7. Enter the network address (e.g., 192.168.1.0/24)
8. Set the subnet mask if different from the CIDR notation
9. Click Confirm to create it

Your subnet will now appear within your group, showing key information like available IP addresses, usage statistics, and status.
